I am an educator with a range of experiences in public, private, and international education. I have worked as an assistant in a small classroom for children on the autism spectrum and as a substitute teacher and assistant in various classrooms grades K-8, often supporting students with special needs. I was an English language tutor at a high school in France through the Fulbright program, and an English, Latin, and Math tutor for middle school students here in the U.S. I have also led American students on foreign exchange trips at the Tufts University European Center in France.
I graduated from Tufts University in 2016 with a B.A. in International Literary and Visual Studies, and have been working in different educational settings in order to determine which path I'd like to pursue, in terms of an M.Ed.
While I will miss the community of schools this year, I have always preferred working with children in small groups or one-one-one, and I see great potential in these circumstances for personalized instruction and creative enrichment on top of the remote curriculum. I am confident that I would be able to keep the students on track, challenged and engaged, while making the experience enjoyable. I hope to teach a pod because I understand the importance of peer learning and group work, especially for younger students.
I also have 15 years of experience babysitting children from six months and older, and I have been a camp counselor.
Teachers, parents, and children have described me as calming, a quality I believe is necessary to help children feel comfortable enough to reach their full potential. I appreciate art, music, nature, storytelling, and foreign languages.
In addition, I am fluent in French and could incorporate that into our learning, if families and students are interested. I'd be happy to send a letter of reference from the family whose daughter I cared for most recently, doing so in French and in English.
I have been speaking with multiple families and am trying to find the best fit as soon as possible. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you!
